The Role

We’re seeking a Senior Account Executive for the Corporate and Public Affairs practice at BCW London.

This individual will have a strong interest in often complex/high profile issues and supporting clients in navigating such issues and a proven track record in a related environment.

You will be responsible for project managing and other key outputs under the guidance of other team members, as well as playing an active role in the broader smooth running of accounts. The successful will pride themselves on ideas and smart thinking and will be eager to bring new ideas to accounts and the wider practice.

Spotting industry issues and understanding the implications of these is a daily requirement for our clients and we would want any candidate to demonstrate a strong appetite for this alongside an enthusiasm for corporate communications and the media.

Additionally, you will have a willingness and ability to lead monitoring (media/ political) for account teams, build and maintain media relationships, manage suppliers and more. This will be under the guidance of an Account Manager to Account Director.

You’ll have a demonstrable passion for corporate communications, international affairs, crisis management, public affairs or internal communications.


Key skills and accountabilities:

  • Experience in a related environment (consultancy, policy, media or other)
  • A broad interest in news coverage from a wide range of sources, with experience in dealing with often complex issues
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the British political system
  • Solid interest and experience in digital, e.g. the digital landscape and the role of digital in media
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to juggle workloads across high profile client accounts, working to deadline
  • Strong research skills, to support a range of projects, and the ability to get to grips with a broad range of technical topics


The Corporate and Public Affairs practice

The largest practice in our London office, this is a multi-disciplinary practice, providing counsel to clients with a focus on building and protecting reputation and supporting clients in times of challenge and change. Emphasis is placed on ensuring a data and insights driven approach to developing strategies and programmes for clients. The services offered by the practice include corporate communications, international affairs, crisis management, public affairs and business transformation.

The team is made up of a combination of former journalists, political advisors and in-house senior practitioners.

The practice incorporates the leading Public Affairs consultancy within the WPP network with 34 experts in political advocacy and issues management. We take a very wide definition of public affairs from traditional political engagement through to modern day public affairs with BCW’s NEXUS offer which combines top down and bottom up tactics to deliver political impact. At the heart of this is political strategy combined with creative execution across a range of communication channels.
