Social Media Manager

Social Media Manager

Nest is the National Employment Savings Trust. It was set up by the government to give every worker in the UK somewhere to save for retirement. We’ve since grown to become one of the UK’s largest schemes by number of members.

 Your new team:

Nest’s Investment Directorate’s role is to help our members enjoy a better retirement by growing their pension savings over time and to achieve strong investment returns without taking more risk than is required.

Nest’s external media team sits within the investment directorate and helps to promote Nest’s investment strategy and our market-leading responsible investment activities. It also works to promote Nest’s proposition and policy objectives and pays a crucial role in reputational and crisis management.

Your new role:

As social media manager at Nest, you will be playing a key role in Nest’s frontline communications. You should have the skills and experience to take a strategic approach to social media, developing a strategy in support of our objectives, while managing our reputation as Nest grows and evolves.

Nest’s social media manager will work collaboratively with teams across Nest, including the Marketing Creative Services and Digital Delivery teams, to help deliver and implement tactical integrated marketing and communication plans.

While you will sit within the investment directorate, the role of social media manager focuses on social media across Nest and provides senior level support where needed with regards to the aims and objectives of the organisation as whole.

As social media manager, you will help develop, organise and execute Nest’s social media strategy, ensuring new and existing audiences are provided with relevant content delivering high levels of engagement and reputation management. You will also work with our customer service teams to help ensure our support via social media is effective and empathetic.

What you’ll need to succeed:

The successful candidate will be someone who understands the role social media plays in the current landscape, as both a way to engage directly with your audience to land key messages, and to support delivery of customer service.

They will have an understanding and awareness of the culture of social media, and the commitment to keep on top of relevant trends and conversations.

They will want to develop and grow Nest’s audience across multiple channels, creating content tailored to the different audiences with a tone of voice to reflect Nest’s unique position in the market.

They will have a good knowledge of different social medias and platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Hootsuite, Trustpilot, Glassdoor, and a passion for emerging platforms and audiences. They will have experience in social media analytics, using data and trends to inform future campaigns.

Nest is a relatively young organisation and has a unique culture due to its position of operating as a not-for-profit in a predominantly private sector industry whilst being funded by government. This leads to a high level of scrutiny, reporting and collaborative decision making.  The successful candidate will need to be able to work collaboratively across teams as well as provide advice and guidance to the Executive.

What you’ll get in return

This is an FTC role through to June 2023 with a salary of  £35,000 based on experience & benefits.

While this is a full-time role, we would be open to consider job sharing opportunities.

For internal candidates the salary will be determined based on experience – Nest Level 2T and will be offered as a Internal Move.

Everyone wants a good work life balance and you will be working with a truly flexible employer, fully embracing a working from home culture and flexible working hours.

You will have your birthday and Christmas Eve as an additional bonus to the already fantastic holiday allowance and of course…a generous pension contribution.
